John Maske

John Maske, 59, went peacefully to heaven on April 23, 2015, after battling cancer. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Antioch Christian Church, Marion. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Linda; children, John (Ashlie), Amanda, and Melissa; and five grandchildren, Jordan (9), Jaden (7), Calle (1), and Mia (1). John was born June 13, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Richard and Marlys (Stanbro) Maske. He resided in Marion his entire life, working for the Marion Parks for eight years and the City of Cedar Rapids in parking maintenance for 21 years. He enjoyed outdoor activities, his 1941 John Deere B tractor, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also dedicated to being an usher at Antioch Christian Church, where he enjoyed meeting and talking to fellow Christians. John will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his granddaughter, Jasmine Jean Maske. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, 1000 13th Street, Marion, Iowa 52302.

John worked with me at marion park he always had a funny story or something funny to say to lighten up the day he was my friend and coworker I will miss him.
